Rio Ferdinand believes Ineos is sending a message to everyone at Manchester United. After they decided to end Sir Alex Ferguson’s contract as a club ambassador on a huge payday.

Ferguson became an ambassador and club director after stepping down as manager in 2013 after 26 years in the role. And was reportedly paid £2.16m a year to serve as the club’s ambassador in a deal that will run for more than a decade.

The move is part of Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting efforts since Ineos took over the Premier League giants’ football operations.
