Morgan Rogers insists there is no doubt in Aston Villa over Ollie Watkins and has labelled him a key player after the England forward squandered a golden opportunity in their 2-0 home defeat to Arsenal.
“Outside of both penalty areas, we had better chances throughout the game. I felt we played really well. I felt we were competitive. Obviously we know they are a good team, so we gave up some space, but we restricted them really well.”
On the missed chance of Ollie Watkins: “He’s a big man for us. We rely on him. We know he’s going to score. We’re not going to question that. It happens. We played well. It’s one of those games where we have to dust ourselves off and move on.”
On Arsenal: “We watched them, analysed them and tried to come up with a game plan to stop their attacks. We waited, attacked and took our chances when we could and I think we did it. We fought them and surprised them.”
“That’s football, that’s chess, that’s two top managers trying Promotion Ufabet to fight each other, and that’s what it is. It’s a shame we didn’t do that.”
On his personal performance, he said: “I’m getting better, I feel more comfortable in the team, I’m trying to impress, I’m trying to shine. I want it to go in a way that the team wins. I want to do better, score goals, create and win games for the team.”
